Aura

Terms of use

Last updated:

These terms govern the use of the Aura: Stop Doomscroll app ("Aura" or "the app"), developed by DroidAdventure. By installing or using the app you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Aura is

Aura is a digital wellbeing tool that limits the time you spend watching short videos in certain third-party apps through a daily bank of minutes that you can recharge with activities inside the app. Features, limits and supported apps may change with updates.

2. Requirements

You must be at least 16 years old and have a compatible Android device. For Aura to work you must turn on its accessibility service; you can turn it off at any time, but the app will then be unable to measure your usage.

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the app on your devices for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, decompile (except where the law allows), resell or distribute the app, or use it to bypass security measures or for unlawful purposes.

4. Not a medical service

Aura helps you build habits, but it is not a medical device and does not replace professional advice. It does not diagnose or treat addiction or any disorder. Only take on the challenges if you feel well. If your phone use worries you, talk to a health professional.

5. Third-party apps

Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Facebook are trademarks of their respective owners, who are not affiliated with or endorsing Aura. Aura does not modify those apps: it only detects which screen is open. Changes made by their developers may temporarily affect detection; when in doubt, Aura prioritises not blocking your chats.

6. Free plan and ads

The free plan is funded by Google AdMob ads: a banner and rewarded ads that you choose to watch. Extra minutes from a rewarded ad are credited only when the ad reports it was completed, up to a daily maximum. Minutes, XP and levels have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed or transferred.

7. Subscriptions (Aura Pass PRO)

Aura Pass PRO is not available yet. When it is, it will be sold as a subscription through Google Play, at the price and period shown before purchase; it will renew automatically until you cancel it in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions, and refunds will follow Google Play's policies. If a subscription ends, the app returns to the free plan limits without losing your Aura progress.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design, texts, graphics, puzzles and the Aura brand belong to DroidAdventure or its licensors. These terms do not transfer any rights in them to you except the licence in section 3.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, change or stop offering the app or some of its features. We try to keep it working well, but we do not guarantee that it is error-free, that it always detects every screen correctly or that it works with every version of Android or of third-party apps.

10. Limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, DroidAdventure is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data or of opportunities arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing here limits the rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your country.

11. Termination

You can stop using Aura at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend the licence if you breach these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will publish the new version on this page with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
